A collection of short Elizabethean lute songs by Dowland et al. Julianne Baird (PhD, Stanford) has a soprano voice of unusual purity and dynamic contrasts. The recording is extremely sympathetic with a very pure and in-the-room feel to it. This recording is on the Dorian label.
